GUIDE ON USING SUBTITLES

There are mainly 2 types of subtitles used on Asianusenet.

  1. .SRT (1 File)
  2. SUB/IDX (2 Files)

SRT

With a SRT file you will have only 1 set of translations, For example: English or just Spanish. Make sure

the subtitle file has an identical name as the video file (except the .srt extension) and fire up your favourite player.

It should work without any changes.

SUB/IDX

These type of subtitle files can be a bit tricky for beginners because they can contain and usually do more than just one

set of subtitles. Usually you will get with a Korean release something like Korean and English and 99% of the time the]

default is Korean which can confuse users. To make these type of subtitles work you will need VOBSUB which is free.

Download and install it. Now you can choose between the subtitles you want to run. Please see image.

A little green arrow will show up in your icon bar which you right click and a menu pops-up.

Now you can choose Between Korean or English or which ever language it applies to.

If there is no green arrow while you are playing your video file one of the following can occur:

  1. Both .IDX and .SUB are not identical to the video file.
  2. Vobsub isn't installed or not installed correctly.
